In any place of business, you can tell who really cares about you by the effort being put into the whole experience. Myself personally, for instance have been to many restaurants and I can tell when they put in the effort by the quickness and freshness of the food. Plus the attitude of the person who is giving you the service and product. The whole welcoming experience makes you want to come back for more since it has become a rarity. At the same time, an opportunity has opened for you because of this.
The same goes for art, the main result of what people see is from the mindset the artist is coming from at the time of creating the work. The effort, the care in details, the quality, the deeper expression from within. The comparison is the artist who puts theirself into their work by projecting the story from within compared to an artist who is just making art because they think people will purchase it. No, you have a purpose. Don't base your work only on making sales since your time and effort are crucial to your collectors. Your image on how you see the world is being projected into the final result potential collectors will see. Do you see you owe it to yourself to be more and do more?
I'd like to hear your story in what you do and have done to set yourself apart.
