On Christmas day I went to visit with my grandparents who are in a retirement home. They recently had a fall. My grandmother is 97 and grandpa is 93. We were talking about the great times we have. I told my grandpa, I think about them consistently even though I am not able to visit them very often. I told my grandpa, Thank you for all you have done throughout all these decades, I appreciate everything. He then said, I wish I could have spent more time with you. I said you did what you could in the time you had allowed. I will accept it for what it is and still grateful for all the lessons learned from your life.
Yes, we all wish we could do more then we have in the past. There is nothing you can do about your past since it is over with. Why put your energy in regret. Be grateful for what you have accomplished and use it as a stepping stone to propel you today and to your future. We all have made mistakes. Use them as a building blocks to be better next time. In the long run by torturing yourself, it brings more needless pain by reliving it again many times. Why not make new memories to hold on to.
What are some stories you would like to share and tools you have used to move on to propel yourself?
